I picked up six new commissions last week, so I’m going to be away doing busy work for a while. I will leave something good on the way out, though.
My Wes Anderson/Fantastic Mr. Fox portrait is at the printer, and I’ll probably release it on Good Friday. Check back for the link.

Get your orders in early to guarantee delivery by Christmas. It’s about to get crazy. Order here.
viewer mail:
“How many Wes Anderson paintings are you going to do?!?”
answer:
I’m not sure if you’re being sarcastic or not, but two more. Both were special requests, and I was feeling nice that day and said “Yes.” If you’re addicted, follow SpokeArt. They post a new one every three minutes.
A few poor-quality photos of framed giclees that will be auctioned off next week in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the Day of the Dead celebration. If you’re local, you should stop by. It’ll be good fun.
Only By Night
Jeff Mitchell, 2012
I have a new piece of art added to my shop. I was making a conscious decision to stray from portraits, when I realized that I just painted a portrait of the moon. I associate the night with mystery, excitement and creativity. So much of my art/writing was created in the night, so I guess this painting is an homage to my partner in crime, the moon.
Now available in an 18” x 24” (quite briefly). There is only one print in the shop.
I don’t really link to work from other artists much, but this kid is really talented. It’s Friday, and you should go look at his work.
Getting art proofs from the printer feels like Christmas morning!
Next week, I’ll shine my love light on PT Anderson’s Punch-Drunk Love. Perhaps you’ll join me.
NEW WORK: This is a preview of my current work. I’ve always loved PT Anderson films, so I thought it would put my stamp on his work. I might do a whole series, which would be a great excuse to go back and watch some of my favorite films.
I launched a new site this morning. Instead of just acting as a hub to find my Etsy shop and various social media outlets, I decided to sell limited edition work.
I’ll go back and revise some parts of the site in the coming weeks as I add more limited-release art.
Enjoy!
